Our Story
Coastside Garage Door started because we saw a gap. Every garage door company serving Pacifica was driving in from somewhere else. Nobody was actually based here. So we set up shop on Palmetto Ave and got to work.
Over the years we've learned what works on the coast and what doesn't. Standard springs rust out fast. Cheap rollers seize up. We stock the parts that hold up in this climate so most jobs get done in a single visit.
We're a small crew and we like it that way. When you call, you talk to someone who actually works on garage doors, not a call center. And if something isn't right after a repair, we're 10 minutes away.
Coastal Expertise
The California coastline is beautiful, but it's hard on garage doors. Pacifica averages over 100 foggy days per year, and the damp, salty air eats through metal roughly three times faster than what homes experience even 10 miles inland. Springs that might last 10 to 15 years in Walnut Creek or Pleasanton can fail in just five to seven years in Pacifica or Half Moon Bay.
That's why we stock rust-resistant hardware and use marine-grade lubricants on every job. Our maintenance schedule is built for homes inside the fog belt, not inland averages. When we replace springs, we factor in the shorter lifespan that ocean moisture creates and tell you up front what to expect.
Wind matters too. Homes in exposed spots like Sharp Park, Rockaway Beach, and the bluffs above Linda Mar take heavy wind loads on their garage doors. We recommend wind-rated doors and reinforcement struts where needed. That keeps panels from bowing and the door running straight through Pacific storms.
